I only spent $7.38 for this weeks grocery bill (primarily cereal, milk, snacks, bread and lunch items). Tuesday I will shop at my local farmers market and stock up on eggs, chicken, lettuce and more veggies. Especially since I have $17.62 more to spend on food for this week.
Some new and improved couponing tips for more savings. I used 3 freebie coupons (1 large container of greek yogurt, 1 box of Kashi cereal, 1 box of Kashi granola bars, 1 fruit snack box = ALL FREE).
Here's what I purchased (not including the freebie food items mentioned above):
- Kashi cereal (usually expensive - target sale and 2 coupons stacked.)
- 2 boxes of fruit snacks ( coupons, buy 2 boxes get one free sale)
- 2 loaves of whole grain bread ( reduced price and internet coupon)
- 1 bottle of milk (on sale)
- Ice cream (I don't eat ice cream that much but hey it's summer and a good ice cream deal never hurt anyone) (coupons and on sale)
- Large peanut butter (on sale & coupons)
- Smuckers Strawberry preserves (on sale)
